This is our front door from the inside of the classroom. Various reminders and schedules are posted on this door. So far I have posted a Lunch Menu and our sign which shows us how we get home. Next to the door I have a great clock that the students can use for reference.

Our blank word wall. On Monday when the students come to school we will discuss our word wall and add the names of our classmates and teacher. I will post a new picture as soon as words are posted.

On this Daily News display I will place the letter I write to the students every morning. As soon as the letter has been read to/with the class I will place on the display for the students to practice reading and writing words from the letter. I will post a new picture of the first letter to my students, soon.

This is the wall next to the Daily News display. This is our writing center. The red chart is the students' mailboxes, names will be added as soon as the students come to school. On top of the "mailboxes" I will display students' classwork.

This display is on the cabinet doors next to our front door. I will place stars that indicate who is doing their homework. Every student will have their own star and it will soon be filled with stickers indicating they are completing their homework.

Our science center. The blue container will be filled with rice/beans/pebbles/etc. (blue baskets on the shelf contain individual cassette walkmans that the students use for listening to stories on tape)

The Puzzle Center.

Math center.
The yellow tub has books on different math topics. To the right is a clothes rack that has posters that we use for reading around the room. The posters are laminated so we are able to write on them and use them throughout the year as needed.

Library Center. The baskets on the top shelf which are empty at the moment will contain guided reading books that are sorted by levels. All other books are sorted by theme or character. Our stools are crates that I attached a chair cushion to.
