Week of November 9, 2009
Parents:
In math we are discussing ordinal numbers. Please review this concept at home by talking about things you do first, second, etc. You may talk about your morning routine and the things that get done before they arrive at school. The students are also learning to read high frequency words: help, this, is, and number words up to twenty. In phonics the students are using puzzles to build words, writing the missing letter in words that are missing the initial or final sound. When their classwork is sent home, please review with your child. Discuss what they did wrong, what they are doing correctly, and how they can improve. It is very important that you continue to review school and classroom rules. The children's safety is very important. When the students are following rules we avoid accidents. I am very impressed with my students. Many of them are reading and are moving up in their phonics levels. Way to go parents, your support is appreciated. Be sure to save and turn in your BOXTOP FOR EDUCATION labels! Thanks for being great parents! Sincerely, Mrs. DeAnda
